Fairino FR5 | 6DOF | 922m | 5kg
Variants: FR5 -IP54-Black
FAIRINO FR5 Collaborative Robot
The FAIRINO FR5 combines high precision with flexible integration: a 5 kg payload, a 922 mm reach and a repeatability of ±0.02 mm make this 6-axis cobot a versatile solution for pick-and-place, assembly, machine tending, quality inspection, gluing and dispensing. Programmes can be easily created via the web interface or the teach pendant and adapted to new processes. You can choose between the standard IP54 model, available in white or black, and the robust IP65 version in white for environments with increased exposure to dust or moisture.

Technical Highlights of the FAIRINO FR5 Black Edition
The FAIRINO FR5 Black Edition is a versatile 6-axis collaborative robot designed for precise and cost-effective automation tasks. With a rated payload of 5 kg, a reach of 922 mm, a repeatability of ±0.02 mm, and a TCP speed of up to 1 m/s, it supports fast and reproducible processes. The robot arm, weighing approximately 22 kg, can be mounted in any orientation. Technically, the IP54 Black Edition is identical to the standard model but enhances the proven FR5 platform with a distinctive black appearance. This makes it particularly suitable for visible installations, showrooms, and applications where a consistent machine design is important alongside functionality and performance. This provides additional design flexibility.

What Applications Is the FAIRINO FR5 Black Edition Suitable For?
The FAIRINO FR5 Black Edition is suitable for pick-and-place operations, machine tending, assembly, screwdriving, quality inspection, as well as adhesive dispensing and dosing applications. With its 922 mm reach, it can service larger work areas or multiple positions within a compact cell. The repeatability of ±0.02 mm supports consistently high process and product quality. Thanks to its black design, the IP54 version is also suitable for representative installations, demonstrators, and customer-facing environments. For applications involving a combined payload of more than 5 kg, including tooling and workpiece, significant exposure to dust or water, a larger working envelope, or high process forces, a more suitable variant should be selected. This provides clear selection criteria.

Setting Up and Commissioning the FAIRINO FR5 Black Edition
The FAIRINO FR5 Black Edition can be configured via a browser-based web interface or a 10.1-inch teach pendant. Motions can be taught directly on the robot and combined into automated workflows within the graphical user interface. SDKs for C#, C++, Python, ROS, and ROS 2 are available for customized applications. TCP/IP, Modbus TCP, and Modbus RTU, as well as digital and analog inputs and outputs, support the integration of external devices. PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, and CC-Link are available as optional communication interfaces. This makes the collaborative robot suitable for both rapid deployment and advanced PLC and software integrations. The black design also facilitates seamless visual integration into existing machine concepts.

Is the FAIRINO FR5 Black Edition the Right Choice for Your Application?
The FAIRINO FR5 Black Edition is a suitable choice for companies looking to automate light to medium-weight components with precision and cost efficiency while also valuing a black machine design. Machine builders, system integrators, demonstration centers, and manufacturing companies benefit from its 5 kg payload, 922 mm reach, ±0.02 mm repeatability, and open communication interfaces. Key factors for system design include the total payload, center of gravity, working envelope, cycle time, and environmental conditions. The IP54 protection rating is suitable for typical controlled industrial environments. For applications with higher exposure to dust or water, the FR5 IP65 version is the more appropriate choice. Collaborative operation requires a risk assessment of the complete application.
