We are often asked whether the linear axes can also be used vertically, and yes they can. It is important to use a motor with brake, so that the robot is secured in case of power failure. Two typical applications for robots on vertically used linear axes are, for example, storage and retrieval machines or vertical farming applications.

The igus Robolink DP 5-axis robot can pick up a payload of up to 3 kilograms and has a reach of 790 mm. With the igus Robot Control, it can also be programmed very easily and is available as a variant with handheld or without. Strokes up to 3000 mm and on request up to 6000 mm can be realized. With the seventh axis function of the igus Robot Control, the kinematics can be controlled.
